This is a momentous occasion for, soon after this ceremony, the child is taken to the Gurukula for his studies, thereby taking him closer to the Guru and the very purpose of his birth. Hence the ceremony is rightly called Upanayana.
At Adi Sankara Nilayam, the maternal ancestral birth home of this great Acharya, Adi Sankara, the Upanayana as well as the Aksharabhyasa(vidyarambha) of Adi Sankara is said to have been conducted.
In this holy, sanctified and revered place, you may also conduct your child’s upanayana. Needless to add, it is a rare boon and a great blessing for a child to have his upanayana in such a holy environ.
